We met up with local ‘wannabe vlogger’ Adam Spires a couple of weeks ago to discuss a possible collaboration with I Love Hermanus. Adam who lives in Fisherhaven recently started vlogging in an attempt to keep a record of his life for his children and children’s children. Journaling just didn’t cut it he says. Things started to snowball from there and video blogging has now become a bodacious hobby that has taken him to many exciting places including Cuba, Iceland, and Mexico!!
Family Man
Adam and Jessica have lived all over the world but decided to move back home to the Western Cape a couple of years ago to be closer to family and friends. They have fallen in love with Hermanus and the Overberg and for now call this wonderful part of South Africa home. Adam who is the creative director for a US technology company says he has the best of both worlds. “I work from home and when I am not off saving baby rhinos from extinction or teaching Chuck Norris the roundhouse kick I like to spend quality time with my three mischevious kids and beautiful wife Jessica.” This family man says that when time allows he likes to get out and explore unusual places and discover hidden gems in his own back yard.
Loyal Following
Adam’s relaxed and unpretentious vlogging style coupled with his boyish charm and good looks has struck a chord with many locals who simply love his work. His Facebook Page and YouTube channel both have a growing following of loyal viewers who can’t wait to see where he has been and what he is going to get up to next.
We thought that you too might like to experience Hermanus through Adam’s eyes so with that in mind we have created a space for his vlogs on our platform for you to enjoy.
