With Day Zero looming we are seeing an ever increasing number of ‘water tourists’ visiting Hermanus in search of some of the creature comforts millions of people worldwide take for granted. The level of our De Bos Dam has been dropping off quite drastically since the water crisis started.

We implore all visitors to please use water sparingly as we don’t have very much of it ourselves. De Bos Dam this week is standing at 48.9 % capacity, almost 29 % emptier than it was at this time last year.

In the meantime, the transfer of 67 million litres of water a day from the Palmiet-Kogelberg dam near Grabouw to the City of Cape Town has commenced. The generous donation is estimated to push Day Zero back into mid April. Read all about it here: https://goo.gl/ALhkAL
